Tomato Kuruma

Tomato kuruma recipe:

Tomato Kuruma is a side dish to Dosa(pancake), Idli, Vadai, Chapati and Rice.

Ingredients needed to make Tomato Kuruma:

  1.  Tomato – 5 pieces
  2. Garlic – 5 cloves
  3. Coriander powder -3 table spoon
  4. Cumin seeds -1 table spoon
  5. Cinnamon, Clove, Fennel seeds  – Small quantity each.
  6. Curry leaves – small quantity
  7. Small onion -50 gram

For grinding:

Firstly fry coriander power with low flame in stove till the raw smell goes off. Fry cumin seeds, Fennel seeds , cinnamon, cloves  in low flame until it heats. Now, let all to cool. Later add all the fried items and grind them to a fine powder.

Fry the tomato till the raw smell goes off , fry the onion , garlic cloves and curry leaves. Lastly add this fried tomato with the powder we ground  then add some water to grind it until it becomes a fine paste.

For seasoning:

1. Mustard-1/2 table spoon

2. Urad dal -1/2 table spoon

3.  Red Chilli -3

4. Ground nut oil -2 table spoon

5. Curry leaves – small quantity cut into  small pieces

6) Big Onion – Chopped into small pieces

Preparation of Tomato Kuruma:

Put pan(soil pan) in the stove  add groundnut oil into it. Then add Mustard. After the mustard burst add Urad dal , red chilli, Onion,  curry leaves. Fry it till the Onion turns brown.

Now make the ground paste to semiliquid state. Then add with the fried onions. Let it boil for10-15 minutes till it become little bit thick. Add raw 1 red chilli and curry leaves into the Tomato kuruma.

Excellent Kuruma is ready to serve! This is enough for 4 member family for one serve. Tomato Kuruma is side dish for Idli, Chapathi, Rice, Pongal and Wheat rava.
