Pepper rasam recipe ( using Tamarind)

Pepper Rasam Recipe:

Benefits of Pepper:

Potassium, another mineral in black pepper, helps improve your stomach’s ability to digest foods and promotes intestinal health. Because black pepper is a carminative, it discourages intestinal gas from forming, and as a bonus, the outer layer of the peppercorn aids in the break-down of fat cells

Things required for Pepper Rasam:

1) Tamarind -25grams

2) Water – 1/2 liter

3) Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoonful

4) Pepper – 5 -10 pieces

5) Garlic cloves – 6 pieces

6) Curry leaves – 5 to 6 leaves

7) Dried Chilly – 3

8) Salt for seasoning

9) Coriander leaves (Small quantity which is cut into small pieces)

10) Asafoetida -2 pinch

11) Turmeric – 1/4th of small teaspoon

9) Take some pure ground nut oil and mustard.

Preparing Tamarind Juice:

Step 1: Add small quantity of water to Tamarind after cleaning. Soak Tamarind for 10 minutes. Take the  soaked Tamarind   and 1/2 liter of water mix them together to get Tamarind juice. Now, the Tamarind juice is ready.

Preparing Pepper rasam paste:

Step:2  Grind the Cumin seeds, pepper, garlic cloves , 2 dried Chilly and curry leaves in mixie.

Preparation of Pepper Rasam:

Step:3  Now, put pan (Soil pan) on stove and let it heat for sometime. Add oil then add mustard, let the mustard to burst. Add 1 dried chilly by making into two pieces with curry leaves. Leave it for few moments to fry. Now add the paste we ground with that add the Asafoetida too. Fry them till it turns brown.

Step:4 Lasty add Tamarind water and the turmeric. Leave this in stove for 10 minutes till it reaches boiling stage. We need to switch off the stove before Pepper rasam boils. Add Coriander leaves in this. Now Pepper Rasam is ready to serve.

Pepper rasam is a healthiest recipe which could be taken with rice after Sambar.It doesn’t used any artificial chemicals to prepare. It is 100% natural. It is a famous side dish in South Indian food.
