Moong dal snacks

Moong dal snacks in sweet made at home everyday evening as snacks. I used to make this snacks at home each evening for my son when he back from school.

Urad dal snacks(Urad dal or Ulunthu paruppu) is good for bone system of the body. In ancient days, in villages they used moong dal for treating the cracked bones.

We all know how the bone system is important to our body. This easily available cheap cost moong dal protect and strong our bones when we take daily.

Let’s make many moong dal recipes at home. Out of them moong dal sweet vadai is one special recipe. In villages, mother in laws used to make this recipe for their brides.

Things required to make dal sweet vadai:

*Moong dal(Full that’s not splited)-250 grams

*Raw sugar -120-125 grams

*Ginger – 1 inch piece

*Cardamom -5 pieces

* Ground nut oil or ghee-1/2 liter

Preparation of moong dal dough for making vadai:

Firstly take moong dal and rinse with water. Then soak it in water for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes , drain out water completely from the moong dal. Now, drain out water completely using seive for 5 more minutes.

Secondly put the moong dal, sugar ,ginger, cardamon into grinder and grind them into fine paste. The paste should be in semi liquid state.

Finally our dough is ready to prepare sweet vadai.

Preparation of Moong dal sancks:

Firstly put pan on stove. But, stove should be in medium flame.

Pour oil in the pan and let it heat for around 60 degree celsius. You can use ghee instead of oil. When we use ghee, it would give awesome taste to vadai.

While preparing vadai, we should maintain the heat of oil or ghee to be medium.

Secondly, once the oil or ghee become medium heat, take small ball of dough and round it and flatten it then put it into oil.

Do the same process for 9 to 12 vadai at a time. Let them boil while it boils turn the vadas to boil well on both sides.

Repeat the process until all dough over.

Finally Moong dal snacks are ready to serve.

How to eat moong dal sweet vadai:

Take some raw sugar and add ghee with it. The slice the vadas and touch the sliced vadas with sugar+ghee mixture. It is in awesome and palatable taste.

Another way of eating this vada is take some vada and crush them well. Take one banana and crush it too then ad it to crushed vadai. Add some raw sugar and ghee with them. Now eat, we have no words to say it’s taste.:)

Certainly, all moms please prepare this natural vada at home and give to your children to keep better health and give good opportunity for healthy next generation. šŸ™‚
