Ragi flour recipe:
Ragi(finger millet) flour recipe is made using Ragi flour for lunch especially in summer season. It is simple dish. And it has extraordinary benefits.
There is lots of interest in ancient millets and grains these days. So, ragi flour is prepared using dried ragi or sprouted dried ragi. And ragi is sprouted the nutrition doubles. So, preparing ragi flour at home is best.
To prepare ragi flour, take 1/2kg of ragi and rinse it well. And then soak in water for 12 hours and then drain out water. After that, put them in a white cotton cloth and tie tightly. Leave it for 15-20 hours. Small sprout will come out. Now, it is ready to dry. Dry it finely. And then grind it to find powder.
However, health benefits of finger millet (ragi) is an excellent source of natural calcium which helps in strengthening bones for growing children and aged people. Regular consumption of finger millet is good for bone health.
Ingredients required for making Ragi dish:
. Ragi flour -1 cup( I have attached the link where the ragi flour is available in Amazon)
. Water -4 cups
. Gingelly oil -1 teaspoon
. Salt – little bit
Preparation of Ragi recipe:
.Firstly put cooker on stove. But, stove should be in medium flame. Add 3 cups of water, gingelly oil and salt. And let it boil
.Secondly mix the 1 cup of flour with 1 cup of water. Keep the mixer aside.
.After that, leave the water boils put the stove in low flame. Most importantly, the stove should be in low flame now. After that, add the mixer little by little into the boiling water and stir well without clots. Stir until it turns little bit solid state.
. Now put lid and let it cook in low flame for 2-3 minutes. There won’t any whistle come out because when you put lid, it was solid. After 3 minutes turn of the stove. And, let the pressure goes of naturally.
. Finally the excellent ragi flour dish is ready to taste.
. Use groundnut chutiney , mint(pudina) chutiney, Sambar and curd as side dishes. Most importantly, chutneys plays important role in enhancing the taste.
. Excellent match for ragi flour dish is ground nut chutiney.
