Fish and prawn curry:

Fish and prawn curry is made using fish or prawn available in market. It could be made easily and delicious to eat with rice or chappathi.

Things required for Fish and Prawn curry:

*Fish or Prawn 1/2 kg (cleaned well and cut into slices)

*Ground nut oil 1 table spoon

*Mustard 1/4 teaspoon

*Onion big 2 (chopped well)

*Green chili 5 to 7 (Make each into two vertical pieces)

*Red chili 2 to 4 (Make into pieces)

*Curry and coriander leaves half handful each

*Tomato 2 to 3 (Cut each into small pieces)

*Coriander powder 2 teaspoon

*Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon

*Fennel seeds 1/4 teaspoon

*Poppy seeds 1/10 teaspoon

*Cinnamon 1 inch piece

*Turmeric powder 1/10th of teaspoon

*Cloves 2 pieces

*Tamarind 25 grams

*Salt required amount

*Coconut 1/2 grated (Make it as coconut milk)

*Small onion 10 pieces (Peel each and rinse well)

Preparation of masala:

Firstly put pan on stove and lit the stove. But it should be in medium flame of stove. And put few drops of oil and fry coriander powder, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, Poppy seeds, cloves and add cinnamon separately.

Let them cool and put them together and make into fine powder. In addition to that add little bit water and grind it into fine paste.

Keep it aside.

Making tamarind juice:

Meanwhile making the masala paste , soak the tamarind in water. And grind it and get the thick tamarind juice. Keep it aside.

Steps in preparing Fish and Prawn curry:

Firstly put pan on stove but stove should be in medium flame and let it heat for sometime.

Pour oil and heat it.

Add mustard and let them burst.

Then add onion, chili and curry leaves and fry them until onion turns light brown. So, that we would get fine taste.

Add garlic and ginger paste and fry for sometime.

Add tomato and fry till it fried well.

Moreover add the masala paste by adding some water. It should be 70% liquid form. And let it boil for few moments. So, that the raw smell of masala goes off.

Then add the cleaned slices of fishes or prawns and boil until fish cooks well.

Finally add tamarind juice , turmeric powder and required amount of salt. Let it boil for 1 or 2 minutes. In addition add curry and coriander leaves to enhance the taste and bring the pan down from stove.

Certainly the fish curry is delicious and tastety. LSN Fish curry is ready to serve with rice or chappati. Certainly our children like this curry side dish very well! šŸ™‚

Most importantly it is less cholestrol food than fish fry. In other words, it is made using small amount of oil. Because fish boils in masala but not in oil.

Therefore our fish curry is delicious. And it is palatable.
